My First Visit to Café Jen in Vršovice
Just a flat white and a first impression so far. I want to return to Café Jen for breakfast, but after one visit for coffee I can’t judge the food.
My First Visit to Café Jen in Vršovice
At lunchtime on Sunday, 27 September 2026, I visited Café Jen in Vršovice for the first time. It’s a neighbourhood café on Kodaňská Street that has been open since 2013. I was looking forward to getting to know another local spot. I went on my own and stayed for a little over an hour.
I had a flat white for CZK 95, which was all I spent. I didn’t try any food this time, so I have no personal verdict on the breakfasts or cakes. I left wanting to come back. I’d give it 4 out of 5, for now just as an impression of this first visit for coffee.
For my next visit, I’m tempted by the granola with sour cherries for CZK 155. I have porridge at home too, so I’d like to try a slightly different breakfast. They also offer scrambled eggs for CZK 125 and eggs in a glass for CZK 195. On weekdays they serve breakfast until 12:30, and at weekends brunch runs until 13:30. If I go back for food, those are the times I’d keep in mind.
I like that they have their own bakery around the corner on Norská Street. The café also has a little shop selling coffee and tea to take home. Father’s roasts their house coffee, and every month they also feature a different guest roaster on the grinder. That interests me because of the coffee I make at home too.
I’d choose Café Jen for coffee or breakfast in Vršovice. I wouldn’t count on finding a free table, though. I don’t yet know what it’s like on other visits. They’re open Monday to Friday from 7:30 to 18:00, and at weekends from 8:30 to 17:00.
